Description
The Black Cobblestone ceramic glaze offers versatility, whether used alone or in combination with other colors. Its unique texture creates a striking black surface, with glimpses of the underlying color peeking through the cracks.
When applied over another glaze, Cobblestone transforms the surface into a textured, "cobbled" terrain. During firing, a dynamic pattern of raised, irregular chips emerges, revealing the base glaze within the cracks. Certified as AP® Non-Toxic and safe for use with ceramics, although it is advised against using it on surfaces intended for food due to its surface characteristics.
Cone 06 oxidation (large photo): A black shattered pattern of raised, irregular chips will emerge. The underlying glaze will appear in the cracks.
Cone 6 oxidation (small photo): Glaze will bead up on the surface of the piece. If applied over another glaze the texture flattens with similar cobblestone pattern.
