Product Information
The Panda Planter is a playful bisque project that is perfect for young children or those adults that consider themselves artistically challenged! This planter pot has a clean and easy to decorate design with a cylindrical shape, rounded feet acting as the base, two cartoony oval eyes, a tiny circle for a beak, and two flat tufts rising above the rim! This fun Panda Planter would be a great first project!
The beauty of the small hand-painted Panda Planter is that it’s a lovely decoration on its own, and it can fit gorgeous and functional plants for most any space! Maybe you’d like to start an herb garden! Plant some italian basil, cilantro, or chives into the Panda Planter! An aloe vera plant would thrive in a pot this size, and a chinese money plant would look fantastic in any apartment or home!
For the beginner, here is a simple paint scheme to get you going on the Panda Planter! First, keep the paint style simple! Sometimes simple is best. Use walnut brown for the body, and use a tan to paint the feet and tufts. Paint the little dotted beak a yellow-gold, the eyes white, of course, and the irises an emerald green! Finally, paint the interior of the pot the same yellow-gold color you chose for the beak. This will make the inside of this pot pop, though few will see it with plants in it.
After the painting is finished, the Panda Planter will be brushed or dipped in glaze then fired in a kiln. This will seal and waterproof the planter, and it will be durable enough for inside and out!
Have a little one who wants to try to paint pottery? The Panda Planter is an easy and fun first project, and the design is so simple, it’s a great way to get into this craft!
